A 16-year-old boy is dead following a motorcycle collision with a minivan in Thorold on Saturday night. Niagara Regional Police responded to the crash at Holland Road and Merrittville Highway just after 10 p.m.
The teen, whose identity has not been released, was riding a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja when he collided with a 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by a 41-year-old woman from Thorold. Despite efforts from paramedics and fire crews, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was not injured.
Police are still investigating the cause of the collision, and anyone with information is urged to contact authorities or Crime Stoppers of Niagara.
