A teenage boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Monday morning in Mississauga.

The collision happened around 8 a.m. on Hurontario Street near the Queen Elizabeth Way in the Cooksville area. Paramedics say the 16-year-old was taken to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed the driver stayed at the scene. The northbound lanes of Hurontario Street at the QEW ramp were closed as investigators examined the incident.
