A 17-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle in Sudbury on Thursday evening.
Police say the collision happened just before 10 p.m. while she was walking near Westmount Avenue and William Avenue. She was taken to hospital with critical injuries but was later pronounced dead.
The driver involved remained at the scene, and police have not yet said whether charges will be laid.
Investigators with the traffic safety unit continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police also expressed condolences to the victim’s family, friends, and others affected.
