Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a deadly collision that occurred early Monday morning on Highway 11-17 near Thunder Bay. The crash, involving a motorcycle and another vehicle, happened around 6:43 a.m. at the intersection with Mapleward Road.
A 17-year-old male from Kakabeka Falls, who was operating the motorcycle, was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries. The highway was shut down in all directions for several hours as police conducted their investigation, reopening just before 2 p.m. on August 11.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
