An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a collision at a car meet in Guelph on Friday night. The event took place in a parking lot on Stone Road West.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., police said the man revved the engine of his Honda Civic aggressively before shifting into drive, causing him to lose control and sideswipe another vehicle.

Officers later located the driver at his home, where they noticed signs of impairment. A roadside breath test confirmed he was over the legal limit, and he was subsequently taken to the police station for further testing, which confirmed the presence of alcohol.

The driver was charged with impaired driving, careless driving, stunt driving, and having alcohol in his system as a novice driver. His license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
