An 18-year-old motorcyclist remains in life-threatening condition after a three-vehicle crash in Brampton early Sunday.
Peel Regional Police say the collision occurred around midnight at Cooperage Street and Financial Street. A motorcycle and a Toyota Venza were both heading north on Financial Street when the motorcycle, travelling in the curb lane, collided with the SUV. Investigators believe speed may have contributed to the crash, though the exact cause has not been determined.
A third vehicle, a Volkswagen, was indirectly involved. The two people inside the Toyota were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Paramedics first transported the motorcyclist to Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga before he was airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto trauma centre, where he remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
