A 19-year-old from Wilsonville, Ontario, has died following a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Haldimand County.
Ontario Provincial Police say the collision occurred around 12:26 a.m. on Highway 54, between Onondaga Townline Road and Harrison Road. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and rolled over before coming to a stop in a ditch.
Emergency services, including Haldimand County OPP, fire, and EMS, responded to the scene. The driver was pronounced dead on site due to life-threatening injuries.
Highway 54 was closed for several hours for the investigation and is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. Police are urging drivers not to bypass road closure signs for safety reasons.
