A 19-year-old woman is facing multiple criminal charges following an incident involving a stolen vehicle on Feb. 1. Wikwemikong Tribal Police responded after receiving a report that evening and later located the vehicle.

When officers attempted to stop it, the driver rammed two police cruisers and sped away before crashing in Manitowaning. The suspect tried to flee on foot but was arrested shortly afterward. Police determined she was impaired, with breath test results exceeding the legal alcohol limit, and confirmed she was already under a probation order at the time.

The charges include vehicle theft, evading police, dangerous driving, impaired driving, and two probation breaches. She remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
