A 19-year-old Thunder Bay woman died Tuesday afternoon after the passenger vehicle she was travelling in collided with a tractor-trailer on Highway 11-17.
The crash happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mapleward Road and Highway 11-17, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
The woman was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Highway 11-17 was closed for several hours as the OPP traffic incident management enforcement team investigated the collision. The roadway has since reopened.
Police are asking anyone who has information around the time of the collision to contact the OPP.
