A 23-year-old motorist is facing multiple charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a collision in Windsor on Tuesday evening.

Police were called shortly after 9 p.m. to a crash involving two vehicles near the intersection of Wyandotte Street East and Marentette Avenue. Investigators say one vehicle was attempting to turn onto Marentette when it collided with another vehicle.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries. According to police, one of the motorists left the area before officers arrived but was located nearby and escorted back to the scene.

The driver was subsequently charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision, careless driving, driving with a suspended licence, and not wearing a seat belt properly. The vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
