Brantford Police are seeking witnesses following a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a car early Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. on King George Road near Varadi Avenue. Investigators say the collision caused the car to leave the roadway and strike a nearby home, sparking a fire. Although the home’s occupants escaped without injury, they were forced to leave the residence due to significant structural damage caused by the crash.
The motorcyclist, a 70-year-old Puslinch man, was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the car, a 39-year-old Brantford man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Update – The motorcyclist has died from his injuries. Brantford Police have charged the driver with dangerous operation causing death, impaired operation causing death, and stunt driving.
