Two women have died following a two-vehicle collision in Brampton on Saturday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police said the crash occurred just before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Queen Street and Dixie Road. Both women were rushed to hospital in critical condition after the collision.
A woman in her 80s was initially pronounced dead after arriving at hospital. Later Saturday evening, police confirmed that the second woman had also succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man, was transported to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
