A 20-year-old man from Woodstock who is awaiting trial in connection with a fatal Brampton crash has been charged again, this time in a stunt driving investigation in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police allege the driver was caught travelling 102 km/h in a 60 km/h zone near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Argentia Road at approximately 1 a.m. on May 23.
Mitchel Hunter has been charged with four offences, including stunt driving and speeding. As a result, his driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle involved was impounded for 14 days.
Police noted that Hunter is already facing charges stemming from a November 2024 collision at Steeles Avenue and Finch Avenue in Brampton. The crash claimed the life of one person and left two others with serious injuries.
Investigators previously identified excessive speed and possible street racing as factors under consideration in that case. Hunter, who was 19 at the time of the collision, remains before the courts and is awaiting trial on charges of dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
