A 20-year-old was charged in Sault Ste. Marie after police say they were driving a go-kart while impaired during a collision late last month.
Officers were called to the area of Doncaster Road and Farwell Terrace around 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 27 following a crash involving a go-kart and a car. Police said signs of alcohol impairment were observed when they spoke with the go-kart driver, leading to an arrest. No injuries were reported.
At police headquarters, the accused failed multiple breath tests. Charges include impaired driving, careless driving, and operating a vehicle without a valid licence, insurance, permit, headlights, rear lights, or a rearview mirror.
The individual was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on March 2.
