A 23-year-old man from Elliot Lake is facing impaired driving charges after an August ATV crash that left the vehicle wrapped in hydro lines.
According to the OPP, the collision happened around 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 6 on Mississauga Avenue, where the ATV struck a hydro pole, became caught in the lines, and flipped onto a nearby yard fence.
The rider, who was alone at the time, was taken to hospital for assessment. Following a detailed investigation, police charged him on Nov. 15 with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and failing to carry an insurance card.
The accused is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Jan. 25.
