Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision involving a 23-year-old woman. The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at University Avenue East and Marsland Drive, where a box truck struck the woman.

She was taken to a local hospital but later died from her injuries. The 54-year-old truck driver was unharmed.

Police anticipate laying charges and temporarily closed the intersection, reopening it around 1 p.m. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
