A 28-year-old Leamington driver is facing multiple charges following a crash that prompted a police investigation over the weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police say the incident happened May 2 around 7:20 p.m. on Talbot Street East near Lutsch Avenue, where officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in which one driver allegedly left the scene.

The suspect was later arrested and charged with impaired operation involving alcohol and drugs, exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit, careless driving, and failing to remain at the scene.

Authorities also imposed an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused is scheduled to appear in a Windsor court on June 12, 2026.
