Police are continuing to investigate a three-vehicle collision that shut down a busy Kitchener intersection Wednesday morning, with charges expected.

Officers from the Waterloo Regional Police Service responded around 7:30 a.m. to reports of a crash at Huron Road and Trussler Road involving a Nissan, a Hyundai and a Ram pickup truck. Witnesses reported heavy fog and reduced visibility at the time in the area.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 30-year-old Kitchener man, was the only person injured. He was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection reopened at about 1 p.m. and the investigation remains ongoing.
