A 30-year-old man was taken to a Hamilton trauma centre after a serious collision in Guelph Tuesday evening.

The Guelph Police Service closed the intersection of Woodlawn Road and Woolwich Street at 6:47 p.m. while responding to the crash, which involved the pedestrian and a vehicle. Authorities did not release details about the extent of the pedestrian’s injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene, and the road was reopened by 7:07 p.m.

Update – The 30-year-old pedestrian is in stable condition. The driver, a 22-year-old from Fergus, has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.
