A 31-year-old man was seriously injured in a snowmobile crash in Scugog Township on Sunday evening and required an airlift to a Toronto trauma centre.
Durham police were called to an unassumed road near Byers Road and Cartwright West Quarter Line shortly before 6:30 p.m., where the rider was found near his snowmobile. He was first taken to a local hospital, then transported by Air ORNG to Toronto with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police later said his condition has improved and is now stable.
The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit examined the scene, prompting road closures in the area for several hours.
