A 34-year-old man has died following a collision involving two dirt bikes on a trail in Garden River First Nation.
The Anishinabek Police Service responded to reports of the crash shortly after 6:30 p.m. on May 30. Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and found one rider suffering from critical injuries. He was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead despite emergency medical efforts.
Investigators determined that the two dirt bikes were travelling in opposite directions when they collided. Police confirmed that both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Anishinabek Police Service.
