A 37-year-old man from Essa Township is facing impaired driving charges after his vehicle left the road and landed in a ditch on 3rd Line near 5th Sideroad late on Nov. 21. Police say they determined he was under the influence of alcohol when they arrived, leading to an on-scene arrest.
He was taken to hospital with minor injuries, then transported to the Nottawasaga Detachment, where officers laid charges for impaired operation and for having a blood alcohol level over 80 mg. He is set to appear in Bradford court next month.
With the holiday season approaching, provincial police are increasing patrols and reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, avoid impaired driving, and always wear a seatbelt.
