A 38-year-old resident from a community near North Bay is facing impaired driving charges after a late-night collision in Chisholm Township.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to Grahamvale Road around 9:20 p.m. on January 25, where they found a pickup truck that had crashed into a tree. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs consistent with alcohol consumption. The individual was arrested and taken to the North Bay OPP detachment but refused to complete further testing.
As a result, the driver has been charged with impaired driving and failure to comply with a lawful demand. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on March 3.
In addition to the charges, the driver received an automatic 90-day licence suspension, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
