An 39-year-old Essex resident is facing court proceedings after a dog-related incident in the town.

Police were called to Laird Avenue around 7 p.m. on January 4 after receiving reports that two dogs had attacked a person and their dog. The individual involved was taken to hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. No injuries were reported to either dog.

The accused has been charged with two counts under the Dog Owners’ Liability Act for failing to prevent dogs from biting or attacking a person or another animal. They are expected to appear in Windsor’s Ontario Court of Justice.
