A young child is in critical condition following a collision in Perth County. The incident occurred on Friday around 1:30 p.m. on Perth Line 56, near Topping, a community west of Wellesley.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that an unloaded commercial vehicle struck a 4-year-old child from Mornington Township. The child sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital before being airlifted to a trauma center for further care.
The investigation temporarily closed Perth Line 56, but the road has since reopened. Authorities are urging anyone with information or footage of the incident to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
