A 40-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Oshawa on Friday night.
Durham Regional Police say the incident happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Adelaide Avenue East, east of Blackthorn Street. The driver, operating a Toyota westbound, left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck one tree before continuing forward and hitting a second tree.
Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was temporarily closed while investigators examined the crash but has since reopened. Police are continuing to investigate what caused the incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
