A 55-year-old Midland resident is facing several charges after a late-night Saturday incident investigated by Ontario Provincial Police.
Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Hugel Avenue and Queen Street, where the driver had reportedly fled the scene. Police located the individual shortly afterward and observed signs of impairment.
Following a failed roadside breath test and additional testing, authorities confirmed the driver was over the legal alcohol limit. The individual has been charged with impaired driving, exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration, dangerous driving, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
The accused has since been released and is expected to appear in court on May 21.
