A 55-year-old woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in Niagara Falls early Saturday morning. Niagara Regional Police responded to a collision on Stanley Avenue near Main Street shortly after 2:30 a.m., where they found the woman with serious injuries. She was transported to a hospital but later pronounced dead.

Police say the woman was struck by a 2010 dark blue BMW traveling south on Stanley Avenue. The 20-year-old driver from Niagara Falls stayed at the scene following the incident.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the event or has dash cam footage to come forward. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Niagara.
