A 60-year-old person from London has died after a crash at the Bluewater Bridge in Sarnia on Wednesday morning.
Lambton County OPP say emergency crews, including police, fire and paramedics, were called to the westbound toll plaza shortly after 8 a.m. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple lanes of the bridge were closed for most of the day, causing significant delays at the border, before reopening around 8 p.m. The investigation is being led by Lambton OPP with support from the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Team.
Authorities say details about what caused the collision, as well as how many vehicles or people were involved, have not yet been confirmed. Drivers heading toward the border are being asked to remain patient while the investigation continues.
