A 67-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle while cycling near South Oakville Centre on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 11:49 a.m. on Rebecca Street, just east of Third Line. According to Halton Regional Police, the cyclist was heading west when a hatchback attempting a left turn into the mall parking lot collided with him.
The man was transported to a trauma centre for treatment. Police are still investigating the extent of the impact between the cyclist and the vehicle and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
