An eight-year-old girl has died following a two-vehicle collision south of Osgoode on Sunday, Ottawa police have confirmed.
Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV at the intersection of Dalmeny Road and Nixon Drive shortly before noon. The girl, who was travelling in the SUV, was rushed to Kemptville District Hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries.
A woman in her 40s who was also in the SUV sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. A six-year-old child travelling in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.
Ottawa and Leeds and Grenville paramedics responded to the scene. Police continue to investigate the collision and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact the Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigation Unit.
