An eight-year-old child has died following a collision involving two ATVs in Plummer Additional Township. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Friday in a field off Cloudslee Road.
Emergency crews from the Ontario Provincial Police and Algoma Paramedic Services responded to the scene. According to police, the child was ejected during the collision, despite wearing a helmet.
The child was taken to a hospital in Thessalon but was later pronounced dead. A postmortem examination is scheduled in Sudbury, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
