An elderly woman remains in critical condition following a three-vehicle crash in Amherstburg. Windsor police say the collision occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 4 at the intersection of Front Road North and Kingsbridge Drive.
Investigators believe a vehicle making a left turn failed to yield to oncoming traffic, resulting in a collision that forced the turning vehicle into a third car stopped at a red light. An 80-year-old passenger in the turning vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.
The intersection was shut down for several hours as traffic investigators examined the scene. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with video footage to come forward.
