A fuel spill shut down Highway 17 for several hours Wednesday night following a collision between two tractor-trailers in Dewant Township, northwestern Ontario.
The crash happened around 9:40 p.m. when one truck crossed into oncoming traffic, causing the collision. According to the OPP, a 34-year-old Alberta woman has been charged with making an unsafe lane change. Fuel spilled onto the roadway, prompting cleanup efforts and an environmental assessment by the Ministry of the Environment.
One lane was later reopened to allow limited traffic. OPP are seeking witnesses or dashcam footage from the area during the time of the incident.
