A 67-year-old California man has died after his vessel capsized on Georgian Bay over the weekend.
Ontario Provincial Police responded around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 following reports of a capsized vessel in waters north of Franklin Island.
The OPP marine unit, along with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Carling Fire Department and Killbear Marina, took part in the response.
Police later confirmed the man was the vessel’s only occupant and was found deceased.
The vessel has since been removed from Georgian Bay. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
