A man from Barrie, aged 46, is facing several charges after his vehicle veered off Highway 6 and landed in a ditch near Gravelle Road in Curtin Township on the evening of August 17.
Ontario Provincial Police arrived at the scene around 5:15 p.m. to investigate the single-vehicle crash. During their assessment, officers conducted a sobriety test on the driver, which led to his arrest for suspected impaired driving.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities later charged the man not only with impaired operation but also with having cannabis openly available inside the vehicle.
Following the arrest, his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was seized for seven days. He is expected to appear in Espanola court on October 6.
