A fire Tuesday night in Barrie’s Allandale neighbourhood has displaced residents after breaking out in the basement of a home on Broadmoor Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene to find heavy smoke and intense heat, but were able to contain the blaze quickly.
The occupants escaped safely before firefighters arrived, and nearby residents gathered to offer support. One neighbour expressed a willingness to help however possible during the difficult time. No injuries were reported.
The home suffered significant fire and smoke damage and remains under investigation as officials return to determine the cause.
