A 63-year-old Brampton resident has been charged after allegedly leaving the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Caledon late Sunday night.
Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded to a collision at approximately 11:30 p.m. on the northbound Highway 410 off-ramp at Hurontario Street. Investigators determined that a black Tesla SUV struck a guardrail before veering into a ditch. The driver then reportedly fled the area on foot toward Treeview Crescent.
Police located the driver a short time later and launched an investigation. As a result, the individual was charged with impaired operation and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
Authorities also impounded the vehicle for seven days, while the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
