A 27-year-old motorcyclist from Brampton has died following a crash in eastern Ontario in the early hours of Thursday.

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police responded shortly after midnight to reports of a motorcycle hitting a guardrail on Bath Road, near Loyalist Township.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity.

The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours between Sir John Johnson Drive and County Road 4 while investigators, including OPP collision reconstruction teams, examined the scene. The road has since reopened.
