A 25-year-old man from Brantford, Ontario, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, along with two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm, following a fatal collision near Napanee last September.
The charges relate to a five-vehicle crash on Highway 401 between Kingston and Belleville on September 18, around 10 p.m. The collision involved two transport trucks and three passenger vehicles, occurring approximately 30 kilometers west of Kingston and 45 kilometers east of Belleville.
One driver was killed in the crash, and two others were injured. The man was arrested on May 8 and released after a bail hearing. He is scheduled to appear in court in Greater Napanee on June 3.
