A 20-year-old man from Cambridge has been charged after a hit-and-run crash in Guelph earlier this month.

Around 3:30 a.m. on April 3, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Paisley Road and Imperial Road South. A Chevrolet Silverado had slammed into a hydro pole, causing major damage. Inside the truck, officers found blood, a wallet, and several beer cans, but the driver was gone.

Police later learned the pickup had been reported stolen from Cambridge. The suspect turned himself in a few days later and now faces charges for leaving the scene of a crash and using a vehicle without the owner’s permission. He is scheduled to appear in court in July.
