A 38-year-old woman from Cambridge is facing an arson charge following a house fire early Saturday morning that left one person in hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Adam Street and Queen Street around 2 a.m. Firefighters brought the blaze under control, though the home sustained heavy damage.

One resident was taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation.

Police have charged the woman with arson endangering human life. The investigation is ongoing, with the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office.
