A multi-vehicle collision on the Gardiner Expressway Tuesday evening caused several lane closures after a car flipped onto its side and caught fire. The crash occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Yonge and Lower Jarvis streets, according to Toronto police.
One vehicle was overturned and ignited, but no information about injuries has been released. Emergency services remain on-site, and all westbound lanes are closed, with only one eastbound lane open. Additionally, the southbound Don Valley Parkway is closed at the Richmond Street exit.
Update – One person, a 68-year-old man, was killed in the accident. Four people were transported to the hospital and two other injured individuals were treated at the scene of the accident.
