A motorcycle rider has died and another person was seriously injured after a crash in Ottawa’s Osgoode area Friday evening.
Emergency crews were called to Cabin Road and Blanchfield Road shortly before 5:45 p.m. after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle, which ended up overturned on its roof.
Firefighters rescued a person trapped inside the vehicle. Ottawa paramedics said the motorcycle rider, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman in her 60s was airlifted to the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus trauma centre by an ORNG air ambulance.
Police closed roads in the area while investigating and advised the public to avoid the scene.
