Police are investigating a pedestrian collision in Kitchener and say charges are anticipated.

Emergency crews were called shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday to the area of Wilson Avenue and Fairway Road South, where a Hyundai struck a pedestrian.

The injured pedestrian, a 68-year-old Kitchener resident, was transported to a hospital outside the region with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The driver, a 58-year-old man from Cambridge, was not injured. Wilson Avenue was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene but has since reopened.
