A 34-year-old man from Chatham has been charged after allegedly intentionally crashing into his ex-partner’s vehicle following a breakup. On Thursday at around 6 p.m., police responded to a collision on King Street East near William Street South. Witnesses reported seeing the man deliberately collide with the other vehicle multiple times.

Investigations revealed that the two had recently ended their romantic relationship. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, failing to remain at the scene of the crash, and dangerous driving. He was later released on a Form 10 with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on October 14, 2025.
