London Police Service say a child is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in a parking lot in north London Thursday evening.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 5:20 p.m. to the area of Adelaide Street North and Sunningdale Road following reports of a pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, officers located a seriously injured child, who was transported to hospital by paramedics.
Police confirmed the driver remained at the scene. It is not yet known whether any charges will be laid.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 5:10 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. to come forward with information. Authorities are particularly interested in dashcam recordings or surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses.
