A 66-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car in east Oshawa on Sunday afternoon. Police say the collision happened around 2 p.m. when a vehicle turning left from Olive Avenue onto Townline Road struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

The victim was taken to Oshawa Hospital with serious injuries, while the driver remained at the scene and was uninjured. The Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit closed the area for several hours to gather evidence.
