A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Oshawa on Thursday afternoon. Durham police responded to the area of Windfields Farm Drive and Bandsman Crescent around 4:10 p.m., where the boy had been struck while crossing the road.
The vehicle, a southbound Chevrolet driven by a 16-year-old, remained at the scene. The boy was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Collision Investigation Unit closed the area for several hours to collect evidence. Authorities are asking anyone with dash cam, cellphone, or surveillance footage to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
