A 74-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough Thursday morning. Toronto police were called around 8:22 a.m. to the intersection of Homestead Road and Coronation Drive, where the pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police traffic services are investigating factors such as road conditions and speed that may have contributed to the collision.

Coronation Drive, from Shoreview Drive to Homestead Road, remains closed as the investigation continues. Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are asked to contact police.
